The Sariska Tiger Reserve authorities and the Wildlife Institute of India officials were worried since the tumors were spotted on ST-6's nose on December 4, 2012.
The tiger was under observation. "We had first thought of operating upon him, but due to the mating season and rains, we postponed it. We were clicking photographs of the tiger and sending them to WWI. However, to our surprise, the two tumours healed on their own," said Manoj Parasar, district forest officer, Sariska.
Alwar: In a new lease of life for Tiger ST- 6, two tumors spotted on his nose a year ago healed without any medical interference from the Sariska Tiger Reserve authorities. The experts expressed surprise as healing of such wounds and tumors on their own is quite rare and often result in death of the majestic cats.
